Week 12
Searched the unity assist store for free low poly gun assists, found one called Low Poly Weapons VOL.1 by Simon Mercuzot. I downloaded the pack and tested in scene, once I was happy with the quality of the assists, I created materials for each of the weapons, Standard, Uncommon, Rare, Unique, Epic, Legendary and Empyrean. I applied the material to each of the guns making different rarities for each gun. I then went back into the RNGLootSpawner script and fixed it so the player would no longer be able to spawn guns non-stop. I did this by having it so when the player Presses E to spawn a weapon it also deactivates the Box Collider that allows the player to spawn guns. I then Pushed my work thus far and worked along side Kael in applying the GroundPickUp script to the weapons so that when they spawn in the player can pick them up. I then created weapon icons for Kael to implement into the players inventory. I created the icons using 3D Painter with each of the weapon assists. Once all pushed, I pulled the work Kael had done and started making the different tiers of chests. The low-tier chests loot pool is only made up of Standard and Uncommon weapons making it the weakest gun chest. The mid-tier chests loot pool is made up of Rare and Unique weapons making is an average gun chest. The high-tier chests loot pool is Epic and Legendary weapons making it the strongest weapon chest. Each gun has an even chance of being spawned per chest. I also created a god-tier chest that only has Empyrean weapons in it, these guns are overpowered and should be extremely rare to get. I then made each of the tiers of chests prefabs so that the environment people can just drop them into the scene wherever they like, and it will work.
